Ingredients
- 1.5 kg Ground Beef regular
- 3 Onions small-ish size
- 5 cloves Garlic
- 100 gr Tomato Paste
- 500 ml Red Wine
- 3 sprigs Rosemary
- 6 sprigs Thyme
- 800 ml Diced Tomatoes canned
- 500 ml Stock chicken or vegetable
- Salt, Pepper, Paprika
Instructions
- Brown (saute) the ground meat over high heat in several batches
- De-glaze the pan after each batch with red wine
- Saute the finely diced onion and garlic together with the last batch of the meat
- Add tomato paste to the onions and garlic, roast lightly, and keep de-glazing and reducing until the red wine is used up
- Transfer the above to a cooking pot, add stock and canned tomatoes
- Bring to a light boil and add chopped rosemary and thyme
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika (use smoked paprika if you like to add a bit of smokey flavour)
- Simmer on low heat for 4 to 4.5 hours stirring occasionally
